Objective: The Fundamentals of Banking Course is all online and designed to give new bank employees, non-bank employees, college and high school students a strong foundation in core banking principles. It helps participants develop a clear understanding of the banking industry, from day-to-day operations to broader financial concepts. In addition to building essential knowledge, the program is intended to spark long-term interest in the field, support employee retention, and create opportunities for future advancement within the industry

Curriculum: The course is divided into three parts:

  • Part 1, Principles of Banking, introduces the fundamentals of the banking industry, including the role of banks in the U.S. economy, banking products, industry regulations, career pathways, and customer service. It’s well-suited for those new to banking or anyone looking to build a foundational understanding of financial services.

     

  • Part 2, Principles of Lending and Finance, focuses on core concepts of lending within the banking sector, emphasizing consumer credit products and the lending process.

     

  • Part 3, Personal Finance, explores essential financial skills such as budgeting, investing, responsible use of credit, and purchasing personal capital assets
