Montana Independent Bankers Association Announces New Executive Director
Helena, Montana – The Montana Independent Bankers Association (MIB) announced today they have hired Shane Scanlon to serve as their next Executive Director.
“It has been a pleasure working with and getting to know Shane over the last four months during the legislative session when he served as MIB’s lobbyist. We are thrilled to have him step up and serve in this leadership role,” said Loren Brown, President of the Montana Independent Bankers Association. “We believe Shane is going to be an incredible addition to our community banking team and are thrilled to have him work alongside us.”
Scanlon has spent over a decade playing an active role in government and public relations as well as political campaigns in Montana. Scanlon represented the Montana Independent Bankers Association during the legislative session earlier this year. Further, he served as the campaign manager for the successful election of Tim Sheehy to the U.S. Senate in 2024, in what was the most highly contested U.S. Senate race that election cycle. He also managed the successful re-election campaign of U.S. Senator Steve Daines in 2020. Scanlon lives in Bozeman with his wife and three children.
The Montana Independent Bankers Association conducted a search earlier this year for a new Executive Director and selected Mr. Scanlon at their April 2025 Board Meeting.
